Consul Bragagni paid a working visit to Jersey

On July 11-12, 2023, a delegation from San Marino, led by Consul Professor Maurizio Bragagni Esq OBE, visited Jersey at the government’s invitation. This visit is a crucial step towards enhancing the relationship between the two countries, boosting economic opportunities, and establishing a pro-business image for both small nations in the global community.

Consul Bragagni had a busy schedule during the visit, meeting with various government officials, including Chief Minister Kristina Moore, Deputy Elaine Millar, Minister for Social Security, Assistant Chief Minister for Financial Services, and Assistant Minister for Treasury and Resources; Deputy Ian Gorst, Minister for Treasury and Resources and Assistant Minister for External Relations; and Deputy Alex Curtis, Assistant Chief Minister and Assistant Minister for Economic Development, Tourism, Sport and Culture.

During his visit, Consul Bragagni had the opportunity to meet with various Jersey business representatives, including Robin MacRae (Airport Director), Chris Ambler (Chief Executive Officer of Jersey Electricity Company), Amy Bryant (Deputy Chief Executive of Jersey Finance Limited), Murray Norton (CEO of Jersey Chamber of Commerce), Adam Budworth (President of Jersey Chamber of Commerce), Paul Murphy (Chief Executive Officer of Jersey Business), Tricia Warwick (Chief Executive Officer of Visit Jersey), and Doug Melville (Channel Islands Financial Ombudsman).

The meetings were productive, with discussions about common values and opportunities for cooperation in the economic, social, and cultural fields between Jersey and San Marino. They also explored the idea of promoting small countries as business-oriented and strengthening cooperation among them.
