The Republic of San Marino is celebrating an outstanding day at the Mediterranean Games Taranto 2026, with its athletes securing three medals in the sport of bocce (bowling): two gold and one bronze, marking an impressive achievement for the San Marino delegation.
Jacopo Frisoni delivered a remarkable performance in the men’s singles, becoming Mediterranean Games champion after defeating Croatia’s Zure 8–3 in the final. Frisoni continued his success in the men’s pairs, joining forces with Enrico Dall’Olmo to secure a second gold medal in a closely contested final against Croatia’s Piric and Zure, which was decided in the final hand, with San Marino prevailing 7–6.
San Marino also celebrated a podium finish in the women’s pairs, where Stella and Giada Paoletti claimed the bronze medal following an impressive 10–2 victory over Tunisia. Their performance added a third medal to the Republic’s tally and further highlighted the strength and quality of San Marino’s athletes on the international stage.
With these results, San Marino’s medal tally at Taranto 2026 stands at two gold medals and one bronze medal. The achievement also represents an improvement on the Republic’s previous bocce results at the Mediterranean Games in Oran, where San Marino secured one gold, one silver and one bronze medal.
