On 9 March 2026, the Consulate proudly celebrated a remarkable moment for our community and colleagues as Zilah Skerrit, Head of Consular Affairs, was awarded the Freedom of the City of London at the historic Guildhall.
The ceremony marked a significant recognition of Zilah’s longstanding service and contributions to public life. Attended by her family, colleagues from the Consulate, and members of Esharelife Foundation, the occasion was both a personal milestone and a moment of pride for all who have worked alongside her.
The Freedom of the City of London is one of the capital’s most historic civic honours, awarded to individuals whose work has made a meaningful contribution to society and the wider community of London. Zilah’s award reflects a career defined by dedication, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to service.
Beyond her outstanding work at the Consulate, Zilah has played a vital role as a trustee of the Esharelife Foundation.
