The World Governments Summit 2026, organised in Dubai from 3–5 February 2026, once again provides an international platform for dialogue among governments, institutions, and policy leaders on the evolving challenges of governance in a rapidly changing global environment. The Summit’s focus on future-oriented public policy, institutional resilience, and international cooperation aligns with the ongoing need for inclusive and pragmatic approaches to global governance.
Under the overarching theme “Shaping Future Governments,” the Summit’s agenda unites more than 150 governments, 35+ heads of state and government, and thousands of ministers, experts, and innovators in intensive dialogue on global governance, societal wellbeing, economic prosperity, urban futures, and emerging frontiers.

Consul Prof Maurizio Bragagni OBE is part of the official delegation of the Republic of San Marino, whose contribution focuses on sustainability as a core element of future governance. His participation aligns with San Marino’s broader approach to international cooperation, which emphasises institutional responsibility, environmental stewardship, and the integration of sustainable practices into economic and social policy.
Sustainability discussions at the Summit address not only environmental protection, but also the long-term resilience of economic systems, supply chains, and public institutions. Consul Bragagni’s engagement highlights the importance of aligning private-sector experience with public policy objectives, particularly in areas such as sustainable investment, responsible entrepreneurship, and innovation that support environmental and social objectives without compromising economic stability.

From the perspective of a small, established republic, San Marino brings a pragmatic approach to sustainability, one grounded in governance continuity, regulatory clarity, and cooperation with international partners.
The World Governments Summit offers an opportunity to exchange experiences and approaches among countries with differing institutional structures and capacities. San Marino’s engagement, through representatives such as Consul Bragagni, underscores the value of inclusive dialogue and reinforces the view that sustainability is not solely a technical challenge but a governance responsibility that must be embedded in long-term decision-making.
