The Embassy of Italy in London organised a reception on 23 April 2026 on the occasion of the remarkable initiative to break the world record for the longest tiramisù.
The creation of the longest tiramisù in the world was not only a tribute to Italian culinary excellence but also a powerful symbol of how culture can serve as a bridge between nations. This spirit was further brought to life during the reception, where numerous Italian companies proudly showcased their finest products, an authentic expression of Made in Italy excellence. From premium ingredients to artisanal specialities, these exhibitors highlighted the quality, tradition, and innovation that define Italian enterprise on the global stage.

The reception also underscored the vital role of diplomacy in supporting such initiatives. It demonstrated how collaboration between institutions, cultural organisations, and businesses can generate outcomes that are both celebratory and impactful. In particular, the involvement of the Esharelife Foundation added a profound humanitarian dimension, ensuring that the initiative contributes to meaningful causes, including education and support for vulnerable communities.
As a patron of the Fondazione Esharelife, it was a particular honour for the Consulate of the Republic of San Marino to take part in this distinguished gathering and to mark the occasion through an exchange with the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in London, His Excellency Iván Romero-Martínez, the Ambassador of Honduras to the United Kingdom. In that setting, surrounded by representatives of the international diplomatic community, the significance of the initiative extended well beyond its record-breaking achievement.
Engaging with the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and other ambassadors present at this reception reinforced the importance of shared values in today’s interconnected world. It also reflected a collective commitment to initiatives that not only celebrate excellence but also give back to society.
The Consulate of San Marino remains proud to support and participate in initiatives that bring nations closer together, demonstrating that diplomacy can be expressed not only through dialogue but also through culture, enterprise, generosity, and shared celebration.
