Preparing for the European Political Community Summit

Consul Bragani was delighted to attend a diplomatic lunch on 28 April 2026 at the invitation of the Cyprus High Commissioner in London. The event was held to mark the upcoming European Political Community Summit.

The lunch took place just before the European Political Community Summit, a major meeting bringing together around 40–50 European leaders and partners. The summit, to be held in Yerevan on 4 May 2026, focuses on key issues such as security, economic cooperation, energy, and strengthening democratic resilience across Europe.   It also provides space for informal talks, including shared meals, where leaders can exchange views more openly.

At a time when Europe is dealing with complex challenges, from security concerns to economic pressures, every opportunity to connect counts. The summit in Armenia aims to strengthen unity and stability across the continent, and smaller events like this lunch help lay the groundwork for that goal.

In this context, the Consul’s attendance at the aforementioned London lunch matters, as it was part of the wider diplomatic process. San Marino plays a meaningful role in this setting. Despite its small size, San Marino has a long tradition of valuing democracy, independence, and freedom. Its participation in the European Political Community Summit highlights how even the smallest states contribute to wider European discussions. By taking part, San Marino reinforces the importance of shared democratic principles and reminds larger nations that unity of values is just as important as political or economic power.

Consul Bragagni’s participation as a San Marino representative was important because these gatherings enable officials to prepare, align positions, and build relationships in advance of larger discussions. His involvement contributed to the steady, often unseen work of diplomacy, where conversations, connections, and presence are crucial.
