San Marino Ambassador to the UK

Ambassador Marchetti has been the non-resident Ambassador of the Republic of San Marino to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland since 25 September 2018.

From 2015 to 2019 she served as the San Marino non-resident Ambassador to the Principality of Liechtenstein.

She started her diplomatic career in 2010 when she joined the Department of Foreign Affairs of San Marino. She currently holds the rank of Counsellor and is a senior official in the Directorate of Economic Affairs.

In 2015-2016 she served as the Secretary-General of the San Marino National Commission for UNESCO.

Before becoming a diplomat Amb. Marchetti taught Italian language, literature and cinema at Italian and U.S. universities and she is the author of several academic papers.

She holds a B.A. in Translation and Interpreting from the University of Bologna and a Ph.D. in Italian Studies from the University of Michigan, USA.

An Italian native speaker, she is fluent in English, German and Spanish.

Her hobbies and interests include travelling, literature, cinema and the arts.
