On 12 March 2026, Prof. Maurizio Bragagni OBE, Honorary Consul of the Republic of San Marino to the United Kingdom, attended the annual gala dinner organised in support of the National Holocaust Museum, an organisation dedicated to preserving the memory and lessons of the Holocaust through education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event brought together Holocaust survivors, educators, supporters and representatives of public institutions who share a common commitment: ensuring that the history of the Holocaust continues to be taught to new generations so that the dangers of hatred, antisemitism and intolerance are never forgotten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the evening, guests followed a programme that reflected both remembrance and education. As illustrated in the official programme distributed at the event, the evening opened with welcoming remarks from Lady Fiorella Massey, Chair of Friends of the Museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was followed by a reflection entitled \u201cThen and Now\u201d delivered by Dr Stephen Smith, Co-Founder of the Trust, who spoke about the continuing importance of Holocaust education in modern society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme continued with a presentation on \u201cOur Education Concept\u201d by Nicola Strauther, Director of Schools Learning, highlighting the Trust\u2019s work with students and teachers across the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A particularly moving moment of the evening came with the testimony \u201cFrom Generation to Generation\u201d delivered by Dr Martin Stern, Holocaust survivor and trustee of the organisation. His words reminded those present of the personal stories behind history and the importance of preserving these testimonies while survivors are still able to share them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme also included a musical performance by Izzy Benson, followed by an appeal for support presented by Adam Dawson, Chair of the Board of Trustees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Consul Bragagni attended the event as part of the Consulate\u2019s ongoing commitment to supporting initiatives that promote education, remembrance and dialogue between communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking after the dinner, he remarked:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cRemembering the Holocaust is not only a duty to history but a responsibility to the future. Education remains the most powerful instrument to prevent hatred and intolerance. The work of the National Holocaust Museum ensures that the voices of survivors continue to guide younger generations.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The Honorary Consulate of the Republic of San Marino in London reaffirms its support for initiatives that safeguard historical memory and promote respect for human dignity and democratic values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
