What an incredible evening was this year\u2019s St Agatha Day celebration, organised on the 4Il 6<\/sup> of February 2025 by the San Marino Consulate in London at the prestigious In & Out Naval Military Club!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saint Agatha is co-patron of the Republic of San Marino, on whose feast day of the 5th of February, Pope Clement XII re-established the sovereignty of the Republic in 1740.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Order of St. Agatha, a State Order established by the Grand and General Council of the Republic of San Marino on 5 June 1923, stands as a testament to the enduring values of dedication, humanitarianism, and international collaboration. This year\u2019s award ceremony was not just a formal gathering but a powerful reminder of the significance of service and the deep-rooted traditions of San Marino.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Consul Bragagni started the evening with the playing of the national anthems of San Marino and the United Kingdom, symbolising the shared values between the two nations. Esteemed dignitaries, including Avv Francesco Mussoni, former Captain Regent of San Marino, alongside ambassadors and representatives from the London Diplomatic Corps, MPs, Sammarinese and Business community, reinforced the Order’s global reach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A highlight of the evening was the conferment of the Order of St. Agatha upon Prof. Dr. Pasquale Urselli. Established in 1923 by the Grand and General Council of San Marino, the Order is named after Saint Agatha, a revered figure symbolising strength and compassion. This prestigious award recognises individuals who have made significant contributions in humanitarian, artistic, political, or military fields, benefitting both San Marino and the wider world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year\u2019s ceremony was especially significant as the Consulate introduced a special award acknowledging organisations and institutions that have contributed to promoting San Marino\u2019s values and international presence. Award recipients included the Consulate General of Italy, the University of Greater Manchester, and philanthropists Cav Lubov Chernukhin and Cav Joe Ricotta. Their contributions to fostering cultural, social, and economic development reflect the guiding principles of the Order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than just an awards ceremony, this event celebrated unity, collaboration, and goodwill. The conversations that continued into the cocktail and canap\u00e9 reception reflected the shared commitment to these enduring values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Order of St. Agatha remains a beacon of service, inspiring future generations to contribute to a better world. By honouring those who dedicate their lives to noble causes, we also reaffirm San Marino\u2019s legacy of resilience and international friendship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
