Il Consolato Onorario di San Marino nel Regno Unito e in Irlanda del Nord, dottor Maurizio Bragagni, ha nominato Freeman della City di Londra il 15 luglio 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il dottor Maurizio Bragagni, cittadino britannico di origine italiana che vive e lavora in citt\u00e0, \u00e8 stato onorato della nomina, elemento unico e duraturo della storia di Londra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La City of London mantiene la capacit\u00e0 di garantire a Freeman of the City una tradizione viva. I Freeman della City - e le donne - provengono da uno spaccato molto ampio della popolazione.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La cerimonia del dottor Bragagni si \u00e8 svolta mercoled\u00ec 15 luglio a mezzogiorno ed \u00e8 stata insolita in quanto \u00e8 stata condotta virtualmente a causa di restrizioni pandemiche.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Si ritiene che una delle pi\u00f9 antiche cerimonie tradizionali ancora oggi esistenti sia stata presentata per la prima volta nel 1237.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Con il termine medievale \"freeman\" si intendeva qualcuno che non era di propriet\u00e0 di un signore feudale ma che godeva di privilegi come il diritto di guadagnare denaro e di possedere terreni. Gli abitanti delle citt\u00e0 che erano protetti dallo statuto della loro citt\u00e0 erano spesso liberi - da qui il termine \"libert\u00e0\" della citt\u00e0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dal Medioevo all'epoca vittoriana, \"la Libert\u00e0\" garantiva il diritto al commercio, consentendo ai membri di una Gilda o di una Consegna di svolgere la loro attivit\u00e0 nel miglio quadrato.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Si applicava una tassa o una multa e in cambio le societ\u00e0 di livree assicuravano che i beni e i servizi forniti fossero dei pi\u00f9 alti standard possibili. Nel 1835, la Freedom fu ampliata per includere non solo i membri delle societ\u00e0 di livree, ma anche le persone che vivono o lavorano nella City o quelle con un forte legame con Londra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Diceva il dottor Bragagni: \"Sono orgoglioso ed onorato di ricevere Freeman della City di Londra. Sono stato a lungo un amante di tutte le cose britanniche e un ambasciatore delle relazioni commerciali tra Inghilterra, Italia e San Marino per due decenni. Continuer\u00f2 a lavorare per sostenere gli interessi della UK PLC e delle aziende e dei produttori britannici al suo interno\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n
