issue\/renew a child\u2019s passport<\/strong>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-Form \u201cB\u201d (<a It usually takes 5 (five) business days. These time frames exclude postage time (mailing times by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt cannot be quantified in advance with certainty).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How much does it cost to apply for\/renew a passport urgently?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Faster processing services (priority fee) amount to Euro 50.00 (fifty\/00), net of commissions, in addition to the cost of the standard passport and shipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How to get a new passport in the event of loss\/theft?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the required documentation (see above), a report of lost\/stolen passport from the local police (or similar) shall be attached, <a href=\"http:\/\/nd%20legalised%20by%20the%20consular%20authority%20with%20a%20signature%20and%20stamp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">translated by a certified translator<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>When to renew a passport? Should the applicant wait until its natural expiry date?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is no statutory time frame to renew a passport. However, as many countries require a few months of validity remaining from the date of entry into their territory, applicants should be advised to renew their passports at least 6 months before the expiry date. Renewals before 6 months are only available in case of deterioration, damage or depletion of stamp\/visa pages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How to know if the passport is ready?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once ready, the passport is sent by registered mail with an acknowledgement of receipt:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-to the consular section that has forwarded the application, or<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-to the applicant. In this case, the consular authority shall indicate the recipient&#8217;s<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>address in the accompanying letter sent to the Department of Foreign Affairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The passport can also be picked up at the Passport Office by a family member\/friend. In this case, the applicant residing abroad shall send the proxy and a copy of his\/her document signed, together with the family member\/friend\u2019s mobile phone to: <a href=\"mailto:info.passaporti@pa.sm\">info.passaporti@pa.sm<\/a> &nbsp;e <a href=\"mailto:info@esteri.sm\">info@esteri.sm<\/a> &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How much does it cost?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Passports <em>for adults<\/em>&#8211; \u20ac100.00<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Passport for children <em>over14 <\/em>&#8211; \u20ac100.00<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Passport for children <em>from 3 to 13 <\/em>&#8211; \u20ac50.00<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Passport for children <em>from 0 to 2 <\/em>&#8211; \u20ac30.00<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fees are net of commissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Application fees do not include shipping costs by registered mail with acknowledgement of receipt (for pick up from family members\/friends, see above) and are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-for shipments to Europe: \u20ac 10.00<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-for shipments outside Europe: \u20ac 20.00<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How to pay for the issue\/renewal of a passport?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-if the passport is sent by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt, by bank transfer (see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.consolatosanmarino.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2025\/07\/5-coordinate-IBAN-per-pagamento.pdf\">Annexe 5<\/a>);<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-if the passport is collected by a family member\/friend at the Passport Office, by cash or by card, by the latter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Can a San Marino citizen residing in San Marino, temporarily abroad for study, work, etc., apply to renew his\/her passport through the Consulate or consular section of the relevant Embassy?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes, by way of exception.
