Returning to the University of Pisa was a special moment for Consul  Bragagni, who studied at the university and has maintained a strong connection with its academic community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During his visit to the Department of Veterinary Sciences, Prof. Bragagni met Professor Vincenzo Miragliotta<\/strong>, Director of the Department, Professor of Veterinary Anatomy and a member of the University\u2019s Academic Senate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their meeting focused on education, research, animal welfare and the role of universities in serving society. They also discussed the importance of cooperation between universities, businesses, institutions and international organisations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Department of Veterinary Sciences combines teaching, scientific research and practical clinical work. Its activities cover important areas including animal health, food safety, veterinary medicine and animal welfare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A return to his academic roots<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For Consul Bragagni, the visit had a personal meaning. Returning to the university where he studied was an opportunity to reflect on the importance of education and the role it has played in his professional journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, Prof. Bragagni serves as Alternate Governor for the Republic of San Marino at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development <\/a>(EBRD), Honorary Consul of the Republic of San Marino to the United Kingdom, and Honorary Senior Visiting Fellow at Bayes Business School. Across these roles, he has continued to promote education, responsible leadership and international cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cReturning to the University of Pisa is always a special experience for me. It is an important part of my personal and academic journey and has helped shape the values that guide me today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI was very pleased to meet Professor Miragliotta and to learn more about the excellent work being carried out by the Department of Veterinary Sciences. Its commitment to teaching, research and animal welfare is a fine example of how knowledge can create real benefits for society.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The meeting highlighted the importance of bringing different areas of expertise together. Universities have a key role in developing knowledge, encouraging critical thinking and preparing the next generation to address complex challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Prof. Bragagni, education and responsibility go hand in hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cKnowledge has its greatest value when it is shared and put into action. Scientific excellence must always be accompanied by responsibility towards people, animals and the environment.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Building bridges through education<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The visit also reflected Consul Bragagni\u2019s wider commitment to building links between academia, public institutions, international organisations and the private sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His work with San Marino and the EBRD includes promoting international cooperation<\/a> and sustainable development, while his academic role at Bayes Business School allows him to contribute to discussions on leadership, entrepreneurship and family business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professor Miragliotta\u2019s warm welcome provided an opportunity to strengthen these connections and to recognise the work of the Department\u2019s academic, clinical, technical and administrative teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Consul Bragagni, the visit to Pisa was both a personal homecoming and an opportunity to look ahead. It was a reminder that education, research and cooperation remain essential to building a more sustainable and responsible future.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
